A feature film about a man with Down's syndrome trying to find his independence whilst escaping the nightmare that has become his home life.
Backpack tells the story of a twenty something man (Darren) who was born with Down's syndrome. He craves independence and just wants to be treated like everybody else, yet he finds himself stuck at home with his parents who are forever arguing and fighting. An incident that leaves Darren needing medical assistance leads to an opportunity that will change Darren's life and the lives of the people around him forever.
