A difficult family reunion

John has been estranged from his father for 15 years. The father now how has dementia. John is persuaded to visit his father at the families old holiday cottage by his sister Maria who has made her own peace with their father and has been nursing him for the past 4 years. Maria desperately needs John's support but this requires a healing of old wounds. How can this happen when their father is physically present but essenitally absent. Memories abound - of the good times as well as the bad - and gradually John resolves his feelings and determines to stay.
