A young girl moves to England to rebuild her life after losing everything in Auschwitz.
Hannah is a survivor of the holocaust who has lost all her family in Auschwitz. She moves to England to live with her cousin Jessica in the summer of 1945. Throughout the story we see her struggle to leave behind the traumatic memories of life in the camp. She remains lost in her own world as she tries to reconnect with normal life. Hannah suffers from episodes where the memories of her past blur into her real life and she begins to imagine characters from her past are still around her. One day she meets Jack an ex-recruit of the English army and they fall in love, bringing Hannah back to life.
