After being attacked in a homophobic hate crime, Ben an up and coming costume designer, transforms into: JOAN! The first Drag Queen Super Hero.

Ben, a thin and tall dapper young man, works as an assistant costume designer in a London theatre. His greatest inspiration comes from old black & white photos of glamorous Hollywood star Joan Crawford. Ben works furiously to finish a dress on time, for tomorrow's night premiere - not wanting to disappoint his eccentric boss Dolores. Neil, the homophobic light technician abruptly destroys Ben's dress. Ben unsuccessfully tries to protect his life's work, in the end, he is left alone, holding his torn dress. Broken, Ben sits down at his desk trembling. His eyes gaze at the dozens of photos of Miss Crawford covering the wall. He closes his eyes for a moment. Suddenly, in the darkness, a hurricane of Crawford's photos fly over Ben and fills the whole room. Crawford's hand bursts out from one of the photos and slaps Ben’s cheek. Ben roars, wakes up, and is reborn as Super JOAN! - a super-heroine fierce drag queen! Super JOAN! is set to get revenge. In a fury of Kung- Fu feminine gestures, she kicks Neil's ass and now she is ready to fight prejudice and homophobia around the world.
