Crossing The Plain

2013, 10 minutes

Johnny Cash inspired short

Crossing The Plain is an ambitious collaborative project aiming to visualise a Johnny Cash classic, with a cosmic twist. Same Guy, Same Girl, Same Gun. A story of belonging, mistake, guilt and spirituality performed across two centuries. Manslaughter, cowboys, suicide and parallel universes. Crossing The Plain is a short drama based on and adapted from the beautiful song "I hung my head" sung by Johnny Cash and originally written by Sting. A young man at odds with his surroundings is dramatically transported into a different world to relive a massive mistake. Toying with the song narrative and the concept of justice, the film offers a visually stunning tribute to not only the Johnny Cash cover but the original Sting creation also.
