Beneath a future, radiation-blown, wasteland, the fugitive runs darkened tunnels underground — one of the last to resist the cyberclones. He is rescued from death by a blind, mute girl who appears to survive on scavenged rodents, who has clearly forgotten human contact, but who shelters him from the radioactive dust storm which periodically sweeps the tunnels.
