A man wakes up in the world of ghosts and has to find his way back to life.

Waking in the middle of the road, a young man finds he has no recollection of recent events. Left with only a book as a clue he decides to go to the library, and on the way encounters a woman who promptly jumps off an overpass. He calls for help, but noone seems to hear or see him. When he looks back, there is no body to be found. After returning the book to the library and researching local history and ghosts, he returns to the overpass later that night. The woman has returned, clearly dead and yet animated. He flees, but encounters another ghostly woman who joins the chase. When cornered, the ghosts tell him that he, too, is dead, having been hit by a car. However, there is still time for his spirit to return to his body if he hurries. He runs off through the night looking for the hospital, and as he reaches the entrance the world fades to white.
