Descartes Error

A pair of corrupt police detectives who kill a drug dealer in the process of robbing him, a crime witnessed by one person, the dealer’s daughter.

It begins with the detectives - Jack Carver and Tom Descartes - on a night of cocaine fuelled violence which leads them to a drug drop off on the Yorkshire Moors. Their plan to rob the dealer and make a quick getaway goes awry when the dealer puts up a fight, and Carver, in a psychotic rage, shoots him. As this happens, Tom sees the dealer’s teenage daughter, Florence, staring out of the car window, a witness to her father’s murder. In a panic Jack and Tom take the drugs and Florence, and the trio begin a drive across the moors. As they do, tensions emerge between the detectives over what to do with Florence. Tom becomes increasingly attached to and protective of her, while Jack has decided that she must disappear.
