What happens when someone calling themselves God tells you to kill yourself - but you're already dead?

Dick Lorent finds himself sitting at a table in an unidentifiable place. A bellboy brings him a phone. The caller, who says he's God, is intent on getting Dick to kill himself with the gun provided by the bellboy. Trouble is - Dick is told that he is already dead: executed for the murders of his wife and family. Only by killing himself can he accept his death. The fact that he may be innocent of the murders seems almost irrelevant.
