Drowned Gloria

2016, 120 minutes

Musical feature film about a post punk British band

A musical film that involves three interrelated stories, cities and times connecting the female characters, looking at perceptions of power within their relationships: the search for liberation through generosity in the Lebanese story Madame Rose Hanie (Beirut, 1908) affects irreversibly Anne, the self-centered leader of the post-punk British band Drowned Gloria (London, 1980). The band’s songs narrate the story of conflicts within the group as well as the grief and frustrations of its Brazilian fan called Glória (Rio de Janeiro, current days) who had an unforeseeably relevant influence on the band.
