A lonely girl seeking friendship

.An only child goes about her daily life. Trying to find different ways to cure her boredom. But it’s not until a paper plane comes over the fence and the discovery of a girl next door that this anxiety is replaced by an overwhelming infatuation. You can’t be bored if you are in love. They never see each other and they never speak, because the fence is too high. They just send messages to each other on paper planes. As time goes by she starts to make more and more beautiful planes. We see how this relationship develops, exploring the connection between boredom, loneliness, obsession and creativity, until one day the girl next door leaves and we are left wondering what it was all for. ‘Emily’ is a coming-of-age story. Only shocking events shift your perspective. And growing up doesn’t just happen once. It happens over and over again. With every one of these small deaths you suffer.
