Bizarre story of a strange chap

The lead character Graham is socially inadequate. As well as a face full of spots, he has an overbearing, nutty mother and a father who is lying comatose in hospital (and has been for some years). The special thing that Graham can do is solve crimes by using his acne as a sort of braille. He then solves the puzzle of his birth and family history. Not a pretty story!
