A girl meets a monster, who takes her on a journey.

Siyue arrives at her grandmother's house, with the intent of throwing away her grandmother's belongings. She enters the clay-making room and encounters a small monster, who attempts to steal the ocarina Siyue's grandmother gave her. When the ocarina breaks, Siyue and the monster must recognize that they both miss grandma; the monster takes Siyue's hand and pulls her into an alternate world, where grandma speaks to Siyue one last time. Siyue returns to the clay-making room and knows in her heart that grandma's spirit lives on.
