It is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing. Macbeth 5.5. Mariana Vaz's notes - This Macbeth excerpt is simple and audacious. Shakespeare may be suggesting that life is loud and ridiculous and that we desperately try to find meaning in the fleeting time we have. No matter the heavy subject, I wanted to apply a lighter interpretation to the text; and so the idea of telling the story of a fool (a clown) and a poor player (prisoner) started taking shape, representing respectively life's silly nature and the constriction of human interaction with it.
