Dylan feels isolated because of his ability to leap inside peoples heads and ‘see what they see, feel what they feel’. When his neighbour starts flirting with him he realises for the first time how incapable of interacting with people he has become. He decides to try and get back to living something like a normal life, but unsure of how to do so, he leaps into the minds of those people he sees who he thinks might help to find his way back to normality, but with unintended consequences.
