When David learns that his closest friend Hans is depressed he decides to some stay at home for a while to care for him. No one likes to be alone, what makes fish any different? A film about friendship and a bond between a man and his fish. The narrative examines themes of loss, loneliness, depression and the projection of emotion. As well as the mourning of relationships and social anxiety. Shot between Lockdowns Holding Hans plays on the current zeitgeist in an examination of isolation and those who shied away from society before any of us did.
