How much does your salary dictate your worth? A pay discrepancy between Macy and Dave force them to re-evaluate the power dynamic within their relationship and question their paths to success.
Macy and Dave, a hardworking, successful couple, learn of a pay discrepancy between them at their company. Macy is forced to decide whether or not to confront the injustice, potentially at Dave’s expense. As Macy’s confident exterior is shattered, Dave struggles to see the injustice until he starts questioning his own road to success. A thought-provoking short film highlighting the way we perceive salary to be the main indicator for our own self-worth. It begs the audience to question how we will ever reach gender pay equality when so much of our merit-based system is subjective. It also contrasts both Macy and Dave’s reactions to the situation. Macy struggles to decide how hard she should fight as her own doubt creeps in, forcing her to wonder if she truly does deserve to earn more. Dave strives to understand Macy’s point of view, and in doing so, must question whether he truly deserves his current success.
