Melanie Mayer, a newly elected mayor of a small Welsh town is holding a meeting to organise the town's 250th anniversary celebrations. The committee members include a grumpy old man, an out-of-touch mother. In an attempt to prove herself, Melanie decides to lie and say that she can get Peter Andre, whom she met once at a book signing, to come and judge the cakes at the Cakes and Cwtch competition. The committee are eager for Peter to arrive. Melanie desperately tries to get Peter to come down to Penperlleni. As the day of the festival gets closer, the villagers anticipate his arrival...
