Father reunited with estranged daughter after 7 years

Father re-united with estranged daughter after her walking out from home 7 years earlier. She arrives on her birthday. He is prejudiced pacifist. She is now a Naval Weapons Tech married to someone of an ethnic minority. Tells him he accepts her choices or she goes and will never return. Having driven her away in the first place, he fights his own prejudices to keep her. Tragedy rears its ugly head, with strange consequences.
