'Lover' is a drama about a man's response to the confines of middle class values and the action he takes in order to find some meaning in his life.
Richard is an ordinary suburban man going through a midlife crisis; he is out of touch with himself and emotionally adrift. One day Richard decides to leave his wife Rachel for Elisa, the younger Latin woman who he has been having an affair with. He heads for London with the idea of starting a new romantic life with the beautiful Elisa. But his surprise arrival at Elisa's doorstep elicits an initial reaction from her that is not what Richard is expecting. When Elisa's little boy runs away from Richard in a London neighborhood, he finds himself facing reality in a very unexpected way.
