Making Your Past Pay (MYPP) aims to promote advice and guidance around the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, which was updated in 2014. It helps clients to give the best possible presentation of their offending history, increasing their chances of getting a job. It is designed to promote discussion and encourage clients to follow the actions suggested in the film. MYPP is 25 minutes long and can be used with groups or individuals. We believe the best outcomes can be achieved when the Education, Training & Employment Officer/Probation Officer/Key Worker works through the film, pausing it at appropriate points to prompt discussion. MYPP provides an overview of disclosing offences. It is important that the calculation of when convictions become spent is done with someone who understands the guidance and has appropriate literacy and numeracy skills to handle the information.
