June 5, 1944, little Mary is getting ready for her first communion. While the children gathered in the church for the preparation of the sacrament, the priest was arrested by the Germans. Marie has a beautiful white dress for the ceremony but there is no priest to celebrate it. Events moved quickly into the night. Clusters of Canadian paratroopers land in the nearby marshes. Leon, the father of Mary, comes to the rescue of lost soldiers. Marie agrees to serve as a guide to John, a Canadian soldier who urgently needs to join his unit. The journey begins through minefields and marshes...
