Masked, is a short 5-6 minute serial killer film. The idea of the film is to give an exaggerated take on the concept that we all wear metaphorical masks to hide our true selves. The killer's face is hidden using specific camera techniques until the end of the film when his face, and therefore mask, is revealed in a social situation. Inspired by serial killer profiling research and the the concept of compartmentalisation, as well as such directors as Gaspar Noe, Gus Van Sandt, Lars Von Trier, and the 1983 german serial killer classic "Angst" by Gerald Kargl, all of whom employ conceptual stylistic techniques to bring dark themes and foreboding atmospheres to the screen.
