To make an art funded film about the migrant crisis in the Mediterranean

Just Another Rescue At Sea! is a short documentary of my first encounter rescuing migrants off the coast of Libya early one morning. We wanted to make a moving portrait of the migrants that showed a completely different aspect to what you normally see in the news. A film showing the human experience of this journey. The edit below is a short 1 min film made for MOAS who run the rescue boats for their website to raise awareness and money for their charity. In just 2 hours we picked up three boats totalling 461 people from 17 countries. Another 1100 people were rescued that morning by other boats in the area. The migrants had never seen the sea before, couldn't swim, had no food or water and were very scared.
