Philia is a post-modern romantic drama about love.
Philia is a post-modern romantic drama about love. On her wedding day bride Erin realises she is not ready to say "I do" to her amazing groom Tom. She makes a run for it with Tom and her childhood friend Max after her. Instead of the fairytale wedding she always dreamt of, she spends wedding day and evening at the beach with Max having a deep conversation about love, friendship and dreams - both of them discovering that true love is not what they expected. The 10-minute fiction short is our self-funded, micro-budget graduation film at Screen Academy Scotland, Edinburgh Napier University. The filming takes place on beautiful Portobello Beach in Edinburgh in late June, and the postproduction of the film continues till early September 2019.
