Seafaring private investigator James Rate is contacted by the wife of his old rival, back from when he was the only pirate on the force. He is the only detective in town with the vim and vinegar to rescue her daughter from the shadowy Tapir, head of a sinister animal-themed criminal organisation. But how much is P.I. Rate willing to sacrifice to recover his old nemesis' most precious treasure?
