James, a younger porter, is faced with the decision of whether to continue his education at University or pursue a career as a hospital porter. Subplots include; a love affair between James and a hospital nurse, Tina; a conflict between wannabe alpha male Ste and veteran porter Stan.; Thomas, a young porter, who is competing with James for the full time Porters Job, which will be decided by boss, Joanne.
