Red Green Blue

2015, 90 minutes

Red, Green, Blue is a tale of obsession, told in three parts

Red, a modern psychological thriller, told through the eyes of ‘Red’ - a troubled late-20’s woman, who becomes obsessed with finding the color lost from her life after a brutal rape and loss of her daughter. Green, a gangland tale following the lives of two drug dealers, Ales and Roman – one obsessed with achieving power and money, the other obsessed with a new form of crystal meth called ‘Green Fairy’. Blue, a police story, following the actions of a police officer so obsessed with finally catching the crime boss, Kubik, that he begins to forget who he truly is. “Not everything is black and white.. . sometimes it’s red” After a brutal attack in which she witnesses the murder of her young daughter, ‘Red’ loses the ability to see the colour red. When all else fails, she searches for the red in the blood of the perpetrators of the attack, convinced this is the only way she will recover what was lost. We are faced with the moral question of whether ‘Red’ is justified in her actions as she gradually crosses the line between redemption and murder. “Not everything is black and white.. . sometimes it’s green” After discovering two of his drug dealers are stealing from him, Kubik enlists the help of the mysterious Josef to send a message that nobody steals from Kubik without paying the price in the blood. But things don’t go to plan, and as bodies start to turn up dead, Kubik is left to wonder if this time the price that must be paid is his. “Not everything is black and white.. . sometimes it’s blue” As each story builds on the last we discover that nothing is entirely as it seems, that cause and effect, right and wrong, and ultimate responsibility all depend on the point of view of the observer – that reality really is perception./
