Award-winning tv-spook hunter Roddy Smythe and his crew descend upon the sleepy Lancashire town of Lower Titterington to investigate a number of huge granite monoliths that have appeared in the area overnight, following a spectacular UFO light show witnessed by hundreds of curious townsfolk. When Roddy Smythe survives an assassination attempt, discovers the stones are of non-terrestrial origin and then learns of the mysterious disappearance of cameraman witness Tommy Doyle, he begins to suspect something very strange is going on...
