Morgan Woods is a young nurse trying to balance modern practice with old family traditions. Her witch mother is dying, yet refuses medical care, insisting magic is the only thing that will cure her. When their combined power fails to restore her strength, she places a huge burden on her daughter’s shoulders. She demands a sacrifice. Morgan has to choose between doing nothing and risking her mother’s life, and murdering someone else to restore her strength. Morgan lures an unpleasant work colleague to her house for the sacrifice, but when she changes her mind, her mother attempts to finish the job...
