In the age of consumerism, if you can buy anything you want… Where does it end? Saving Faces begins with a grief-stricken mourning man looking for companionship with a prostitute. Neglecting to sleep with her he instead asks to be told a story. The story chronicles Damien, a disaffected young man and his first day at temp work in the City. Needing to pay rent he comes into the office one weekend evening to find a dieing woman bleeding on the floor in the gent’s toilets. Traumatised beyond coherence the woman hands him a calling card for a company named Novo Visio asking him to find a girl. Before Damien can react two masked men break into the toilets grab the girl screaming from Damien and pistol-whip him unconscious. Investigating, Damien finds out the truth about the company, a truth that shatters his conceptions of consumerism, prostitution and even gender.
