Sick To My Bones

2014, 13 minutes

'Sick To My Bones' is a sci-fi/fantasy short story set in a time where humanity no longer exist. Two warriors remain after an apocalyptic battle. Bound together, they travel the lonely wilderness towards salvation

Concept This film explores the concepts of lost hope, purgatory, compassion and the ideas of good and evil with the use of live action puppetry. Inspired by the puppetry films of Jim Henson's 'Labyrinth' and 'The Dark Crystal', Sick To My Bones hopes to reignite imagination and fantasy with a technique of storytelling we seem to have lost in the world of CGI where our lead actress acts alongside an 8ft tall puppet. Good & Evil The angel and demon characters represent the yin and yang in Chinese philosophy, as well was the personification of beliefs from Abrahamic religions. The film intends to explore from an objective point of view what these beliefs are and how they have shaped humanity and where they can take them in the future. Mixing mythical stories from both Western and Eastern beliefs, the film asks the question of what it means to obtain a sense of balance, or at least an awareness of how differing points of view can ultimately mean the same thing.
