Sisters

In 1970s Minnesota, a young nun falls in love with a runaway girl.

Sisters is inspired by the true story of director Mandy Jacobs' great-aunt and her wife, who met in a convent in the 1970s, as well as by the numerous accounts of other lesbian nuns and ex-nuns who have written about their experiences with faith, love, and "particular friendship". The Chapman University thesis film is an exploration of the mysterious and perhaps divine ways we are led to discover and face the truths of ourselves.
