The Actor and the Tramp

2011, 10 minutes

An actor, dressed as one of Godot's tramps, leaves the theatre for a cigarette break and encounters a homeless man sat amongst the rubbish.

An actor dressed as one of the tramps from Beckett's 'Waiting for Godot' goes for a cigarette break in an alley at the rear of the theatre. The actor is confronted by a genuine tramp who is sat in the alley surrounded by dumpsters and bags of rubbish. Initially embarrassed by the situation, the actor attempts, through a series of silent exchanges, to help the tramp in alleviating his situation. Just when it seems that the tramp is destined to remain penniless an event occurs which calls both the actor's and the tramp's roles into question.
