“The Calm Before” follows Cat and Ryan, in their attempt to run away from the troubles in their lives. Cat is a timid art student, with a Father who is a heavy weight on her life. She finds an unlikely sanctuary in local amateur boxer, Ryan, who faces his own inner troubles. Together they find peace. Ryan is jogging past Cat’s house one night and witnesses her storm out of her front door. Upon discovering her Father has hit her in a drunken state, he decides that it is the last straw, and takes matter into his own hands. The pair escape to the coast together, and finally find complete peace. At least this is how it seems, Cat begins to notice that it appears Ryan is hiding something, but little does she know it will change her life forever.
