The Distants is a thriller with elements of science fiction, much like The Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1978.)
Set in a rural village surrounded by nothing but fields, we follow Mo – a shy misfit living with his brash housemate, Chris. Between working in the local shop and constantly being the butt of jokes, Mo slowly begins to realise something’s very wrong. Meanwhile, Chris’s initial amusement at the way he treats Mo slowly begins to turn into guilt. Can Chris admit the error of his ways, can Mo stand up for himself and can they both escape in time? Or will The Distants close in?
