The Fall of Adam

2006, 7 minutes

The Fall of Adam is an urban regeneration of Adam's fall from grace.

The Fall of Adam is an urban regeneration of Adam's fall from grace. Taking the story to new hi-rise heights, Adam's staircase descent is a literal wrestle with his demons. It's fight on flights as Eve turns from the divine to the bovine, and Satan shows up to air his dirty laundry. Choosing to shoot on 35mm, Gail's intention was to create a film that would take the choreographic ideas of the niche dance film genre, a few nods to horror, and turn it on its head as a dance film for a new audience. Combined with state of the art CGI and prosthetics, the film appears to belie its budget - and the genre's viewing constraints. Gail says, "The Fall of Adam was born from my own frustration as a choreographer in the transient world of performance installations, my disappointment in the non-development of audiences for dance film, and my passion for strong narrative and visually startling films."
