The Iniquity Of Us All
2020, 15 minutes
Jude, a queer 20-something, has just been beaten to a pulp; but first they want to tell us about this book they've been reading.
The Iniquity Of Us All is an examination of queer identity, the minefield of its nomenclature and the violent reaction gender nonconformity can provoke. Jude, bloodied and bruised after a brutal assault in front of disinterested passers-by, talks through sexual politics by way of lesbian book clubs, the hypocrisy of organised religion, Rose Alatini's banned 1918 novel Despised And Rejected and Sigismund Goetze's acerbic 1904 painting Despised And Rejected By Men.
