A boy tries to help his family overcome financial problems.
The Little Scribe is a fantastical tale surrounding a poor family. Giulio, an intelligent boy of 12, notices his father is getting old and is constantly exhausted due to his efforts to put food on the table. Despite his father’s orders to stay out of it and focus in school, little Giulio decides to help. One day, after his father goes to sleep, he sits at the writing table and continues his father’s copies, one of his many jobs. Witnessing the family’s happiness over the extra bit of money, Giulio gets motivated to continuing every night. However, slowly he starts falling at school. Disappointed at his son, the father starts getting cold and distant. So Giulio makes an extra bit of effort and pushes himself to stay awake and work even harder. After a while, his body starts collapsing. He looks exhausted and starts getting sick. At this point the father doesn't seem to care anymore. Still he wakes up every night and continues the work... Until one night his secret is finally revealed.
