The Orchard

2013, 120 minutes

Chekov's The Orchard meets Pirandello's six characters in search of an author.

A group of actor friends come together in a country house to put on an improvised version of The Cherry Orchard. As the actors gleefully reunite all bodes well But as they cast themselves in the play cracks begin to appear. They discuss the themes of the play - longing for things past, decay, regret, loss, spite and jealousy and what began as a jolly weekend turns into a self-doubting and destructive scenario for them all. As they gather in the garden to make their theatrical entrance, the film ends. But will they ever be able to be friends again?
