Detective George has a long standing affair with his partner's (Clive Newman) wife (Kitty). When Clive discovers the truth he losses control and in a furry of rage against his wife, he accidentally crushes the couples newly born baby. Six years later Clive Newman is up for parole, and George must seize his last chance to gain the sole love of Kitty.
