Inspired by the works of Marjane Satrapi and Ayaan Hirsi Ali, The Spring is an exploration of the illusion of choice within a 'separate but equal' world. Description 'An oppressed woman is like a coiled spring. The more you push her down, the farther she flies.' Inspired by the works of Marjane Satrapi and Ayaan Hirsi Ali, 'The Spring' is set in a fictional world, where men and women live in separate, parallel universes. We meet our heroine on her 'wedding day', and explore the strength any individual can muster when directly faced with injustice. Our influences, visually, are Mulholland Drive, Alice in Wonderland, The Matrix and a little bit of Nausicaa: In the Valley of the Wind.
