c/o SONY PICTURES INTERNATIONAL The production recently wrapped its Edinburgh schedule for the film which follows a group of Catholic schoolgirls from Oban who travel to the capital for a choir competition. Broxburn native Caton-Jones optioned the novel from Alan Warner in 1998, however it has taken 20 years for the film to finally enter production. Scottish production company Sigma, who are coming off of big-budget Netflix epic Outlaw King, have teamed with Caton-Jones to make his passion piece a reality. Filming at Castle Terrace, Edinburgh Following a successful career in Hollywood during the 1990s which included films like Rob Roy, Doc Hollywood, The Jackal and an early role for Leonardo DiCaprio in This Boy’s Life, Caton- Jones said he was “ecstatic to return to Scotland, my homeland, to shoot this particular film.” The main cast is made up of relative newcomers including Eve Austin, Tallulah Greive, Abigail Lawrie, Sally Messham, Rona Morison, and Marli Siu. Kate Dickie and David Hayman also star. Filming on Victoria Street, Edinburgh The production spent over a week filming the 90s set drama in Edinburgh which saw CodeClan on Castle Terrace transformed into a police station while the Liquid Rooms on Victoria Street became the Pillbox nightclub.
