The Woods

A short film about love, freedom & electroshock therapy.

Confined in a run down psychiatric hospital against her will, Alice dreams of her previous life of freedom and contentment. Her only solace is Michael, a young soldier also receiving treatment and when he disappears, all seems is lost. We meet them in her memories, huddled together for comfort, with Michael telling her he will one day take her out of here. Then we see her at night standing at the window of her hospital room staring into the dark woods that surround the grounds. A light shines from the trees once then twice and a surprised Alice responds by flashing her little flashlight. The next day she has her first electro shock therapy and her whole world is turned upside down.
