Includes narrative of the night that inspired Mary Shelley to write 'Frankenstein'. That year the whole of Europe was plunged into darkness as a result of a volcanic erruption. The Shelleys went to stay with Byron in Switzerland, which was also in darkness. This was filmed on location in Switzerland.
