The lies we live
'This Role I Play' is set in a underground Cabaret Club in 1921 Brighton. The film is narrated by jazz music and the singing and dancing in the club. It tells the story of three protagonists, dealing with their obsessions. Lulu, and her obsession for fame, and doing whatever it takes to make it big, Frankie, struggling with the fact that he is secretly gay and this could mean his imprisonment, and Ernest, a talented artist whose only enjoyment in life comes from visiting the club each night.
