Trace

Trace is the second in a trilogy. Trace is a documentary of emotional consequences, not of events. Whilst events are implied never are they revealed. A visual narrative is deliberately obscured. The quality of Super 8 film gives an association of familial intimacy and a degradation of image. This combined with the shooting quality and editing style abstracts further. A narrative of events is substituted by one of psychological impact. The vocal controlled is matter of fact. "It has happened, It is happening and there is no meaning" This is an everyday event. The inadequacy of fixing truths and finding purpose in factual events is conveyed by engaging and obstructing the viewer. The viewer is left to the mercy of their own imagination.
