Wayne is a secondary school teacher in his 30’s. He moves to Dalston, the heart of East London, where he just started a new job in a compehensive school in Hackney. He is a singular man, socially different. Quickly, he faces the violent gentrification occurring in the trendy areas of London, where locals, immigrants and yuppies confront each other every day. Wayne meets Chloe, a gallery manager who will introduce him to the night life of the East End, but also Hassan, who owns the Turkish restaurant in his street, and Matthew, his neighbour, an old Cockney who hates the yuppies. Wayne’s unclear past combined with his growing psychiatric instability make him an easy target for all communities. By trying to get integrated, Wayne experiences rejection and humiliation causing his past demons to come back. After an ultimate persecution, Wayne’s violent behaviour erupts and unleashes his darkest pulses. He will take revenge on those who made him suffer, while his psychological state will continue to degenerate and make him and uncontrollable murderer.
