The film is about the Joiners Arms - the former queer venue on the Hackney Road - 4 years ago the pub's site was sold to Regal homes, their plan was to demolish it and build a block of luxury flats. After a 3 year campaign by ‘Friends of the Joiners Arms’ Tower Hamlets council agreed to the redevelopment, but only if it includes a dedicated LGBTQI+ venue - a landmark policy and victory for the LGBTQI+ community. The film is about queer culture, gentrification and asks what is community and how can we protect ours?
