A bitter wartime love triangle
Evelyn's husband (Frank) has been missing in action after his plane was shot down, presumed dead. Evelyn lets out the house to a lodger (James) who works as a bomb disposal officer in London. They fall madly in love with each other, only to receive news that Frank is alive and is returning home; blind and heavily scarred.
